Welcome to my Favorites Page! Over time I will add to this list of my favorite blogs, web sites, and recommendations for writers and musicians who are looking for professional help to get their work out there. We can't do this by ourselves!
Recommended Excellent Read
Christian writer Donald Miller's book, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years: How I Learned to Live a Better Story, has influenced my thinking and writing. Miller outlines the elements of a strong story and shows how he changed his personal life to live in that better story. Available in audiobook and Kindle e-book, this is an informative book for fiction and memoir writers who are crafting or telling personal stories, and recommended reading for anyone who wants to create life in a better story. Click on the link below to find the letters from the Arrested Mind of James, inmate in the prison system. An articulate, creative writer with a genius I.Q., James' letters give us insight into the mind of a drug addict, life behind prison walls, and his evolving maturity as he copes with the stress and challenges of incarceration.
Singer/Songwriter, Darcy Miller
Click on the link below to find the beautiful web site of my talented singer/songwriter friend Darcy. You can find her music and get the schedule of her performances with her band on the Space Coast of Florida. Darcy created this web site herself in a short period of time from a free web site service. She can tell you about it. Getting an online presence does not have to be expensive!
My Favorite Florida Band: The Rodeo Rhythm Kings
With entertaining performances and wonderfully-satisfying arrangements of our favorite old cowboy and western songs, added to outstanding vocals and instrumental artistry, these three musicians serve up a gourmet delight for the senses. Don't miss them!
The band's fiddle player, Bo Frazer, also plays as a single act in Sunday services throughout the Space Coast Florida area (if you're a new-thought church-goer), and with other groups. Bo plays accompaniments on two of my Spiritland CD tracks--
His "personality" fiddle on my song, "Say Howdy,"
His guitar on my talking blues song, "Search for Myself."
